Our Team
Allow our team of expert groomers, Corey, Alena, Shelley, Nix, and Bella along with our exceptional team of bathers, to provide your beloved pet with the same excellent care we have provided for years. We offer complete grooming services for dogs, cats and a variety of services for small mammals.
OWNER: COREY PANTANO-FRYAR
Corey has been grooming pets since 2003. She began her career as a groomer in the corporate sector. Prior experiences include managing, opening new salons, and apprenticing new groomers. Following her heart, she transitioned to the non-profit sector with Animal House Rescue/Animal Friends Alliance. Corey played an active role in building Animal House Grooming from the ground up. In 2021, Corey took the opportunity to make the grooming department her own, and Pups on the Poudre was born.
Corey specializes in difficult dogs with varying behavioral or physical/medical needs. She does have limited space to add new complex dogs to her schedule and focuses on referrals from Veterinarians and Trainers.
Corey and her wife Sally have four amazing kids. Including, her oldest Rory who is a bather. As well as three dogs, all adopted from Animal Friends Alliance.
GROOMER: SHELLEY
Shelley started her journey here at Pups on the Poudre as a Bather. After completing our apprentice program, she is now taking clients as a Groomer. Shelley is driven to perfect her skills and become more proficient with all breeds and their unique haircuts! Shelley has a long history of loving dogs and is very intuitive with animals. She enjoys getting to know her clients and creating a personal bond with each of them, making them feel more safe and comfortable during their time with her.

In early 2022, Alena joined Pups on the Poudre as a bather and later completed an apprenticeship to become a skilled groomer. Known for her calming presence, she expertly handles nervous dogs and ensures they have a comfortable grooming experience. Alena is also a devoted pet parent to her horse and two dogs. Working at Pups on the Poudre is more than just a profession – it showcases her understanding of the special bond between pets and their owners, making her a valuable team member.

Lauren has been with Pups on the Poudre since 2022. She came to us after finishing her time at San Diego Grooming Academy in California. Lauren’s animal experience goes as far back as her childhood working with horses for 9 years before transitioning to dogs after graduating high school. Lauren is part time as she lives in Denver and has another full time job in Human Resources. We are honored that she takes the time to commute to work with us on the weekends1

Born and raised in Northern Colorado, Nix has been surrounded by poodles their entire life. Nix’s lifelong love for animals inspired them to pursue a career in grooming. They began grooming professionally in 2023. Nix quickly developed a passion for more fun, complex, and detailed haircuts that highlight each dog’s unique personality and charm. Whether it’s a simple trim or a customized style for comfort and flair, Nix takes pride in making every dog look and feel their best.

Hanna's Personal Bio:
Ever since I can remember, I have always been around and loved animals. My parents were very influential in teaching me to care for them and how to read their body language. I had the privilege to care for my own pet for 12 years before he passed due to age. I have pet sat for family, friends, and clients for over ten years. In addition to extensive experience watching various dogs and cats over the years, I also have experience caring for horses, farm animals, and reptiles.
I am regularly available for any pet stays or drop-ins Sunday through Saturday, and can provide overnight services for a safer, more relaxed experience for your pet(s), as I will cater my stay to meet their individual needs and energy levels. Additionally, I am experienced in providing pets with medication, including topical, oral, and IV injections if needed. I like to set up meet and greets to go over the pet’s specific routine and to better understand their needs. I look forward to meeting with you and your fur family.

Hanna is our senior bather and bather trainer. She has been with us since 2022. She excels at working with scared and senior pets. Hanna also has her owner pet sitting business for a number of years and we highly recommend her! Find her info below!

The love of pets runs in the family! Rory is the son of our owner and head groomer. He has been official member of the staff since 2022 but has grown up to love dogs at home and in the shop since he was young. He is currently working as one of our full time bathers and aims to continue working with animals in the future.

Alaina is a bather/apprentice here at Pups on the Poudre Grooming. She started in early 2024. She is passionate in working with dogs, having two herself. She is currently in our apprenticeship program and looking forward to becoming a full-fledged groomer once she graduates from school this year.
